San Fransisco, CA: R/SF Projects. April 2017.
Installation and Performance.
presented by RSF Projects, you are welcome here: dances made for one or none examines instant intimacy with an audience of one or fewer. Guests are met with a service-based checklist- silent flower arranging, duet dance parties, watching poetry or nature scenes together, non-licensed massage work - and a 40 minute video installation for tentative observers. With choices for each individual participant, the performer seeks to foster closeness and care through somatic and sensorial experience.
sorry this isn't a good photo. it hung above in front of the installation to greet the participants. it says:
welcome and thank you for being here. sometimes i think it's helpful to get a little direction in engaging with art such as this.
i welcome you to come inside the installation to receive a handful of services i am providing. we can agree on an amount of time that feels comfortable to commit to.
i also welcome you, if you're not up for that, to watch until you think "maybe i'd like to participate!"
i welcome you to just watch. in fact, i've prepared a video for you in case the goings-on in the space aren't super interesting to you.
lastly, i invite you to come and have a chat with me about whatever. i am pretty approachable.
ok. see you soon.
