Madison Page & Friends: This Is For The Living

Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, CA. December 22 - 30, 2016.

this is for the living is a two part process made in collaboration with Samantha Mohr, Caitlin Adams, and Chelsea Rector.  Both pieces examine the relationship between audience and practitioner in the making of dance. Drawing from authentic movement, contemplative practice, contemporary dance, relational activities, the studio becomes a laboratory to investigate the performance and rehearsal process in real time.

Here for a small segment of the 4 day durational works.

The Hammer Museum's In Real Life: Studio

In Real Life: Studio provides a glimpse into the working processes of artists. Throughout the fall a select group of artists utilizes spaces in the museum to convene and rehearse new material, including theater, dance, music, and performance. While some artists and collectives will simply discuss or workshop material, others will produce a new project from rehearsal to final performance.
